Still at Mr. Ike’s apartment, his hurtful words kept reechoing in his wife’s ear; “you’re just killing yourself unnecessarily! Maybe I have to talk to you in this manner so that you can change! I’ve told you times without number to do something about your dressing. Take care of yourself! We can’t continue like this! You put me off with your look. Please do something!”

She dried her tears and decided to see a relationship coach in the morning.

Mrs. Kalu, trying to recover from the shock of her neighbor’s confession, motioned her to a seat.  Please tell me why you hate sex and why it must come once in a whole week, knowing very well that you’re married. Where you sexually abused in the past?

Neighbor: No Ma!

Mrs. Kalu: My dear, can you come to my office first thing in the morning?

Neighbor: Yes Ma.

Mrs. Kalu: Alright. We will have a good chat and I believe that the problem will be resolved by God’s grace.

The reassuring words from Mrs. Kalu lightened her face. She beamed with smile and left.

8am at Mrs. Kalu’s office.

Mrs. Kalu alighted from her car and was surprised to notice a human figure already pacing in front of her office that early.

Mrs. Kalu: hmm! That must be neighbor. God, people are really going through hell. What must have made this young woman to hate sex this much? I bet she didn’t sleep last night. Imagine leaving her house this early to run to my office. God please give me your divine wisdom to give her the right words she needs to amend her cracked wall.

Mrs. Kalu stopped mumbling to herself as she approached her office but was surprised to see that it wasn’t her neighbor after all. Standing before her was a young woman with a troubled look written all over her. Her shabby dressing was n indication that she ran straight to Mrs. Kalu’s office immediately she witnessed the dawn of a new day.

Mrs. Ike: Good morning ma’am.

Mrs. Kalu: Good morning dear. Trust you had a peaceful night rest?

Mrs. Ike: I’m afraid I did not bath my eyelids last night, let alone closing them in sleep. Please Ma, I urgently need your help because I’m in trouble. My marriage is at the verge of collapsing as I’m talking to you. My husband ….

Mrs. Kalu cuts in as Mrs. Ike broke down in tears: It’s ok Ma’am. Whatever the problem is, God will help us to resolve it. Just calm down, pull yourself together and let’s go inside. Here (Mrs. Kalu offered her tissue paper to dry her tears as they proceed to her office  that has been thoroughly cleaned by her secretary.)

Immediately Mrs. Ike came in, the ambience of the office calmed her nerves and the soft music of Dolly Parton coming from the office was really soothing. Mrs. Kalu after saying a brief silent prayer, motioned her to a chair opposite her.

Mrs. Kalu: Can I meet you Ma’am?

Mrs. Ike: Yes ma. My name is Ngozi Ike. Someone gave me your contact address last night and I decided to come as early as possible today.

She impeccably narrated her ordeal with her husband.

Mrs. Kalu: My dear, sorry about the way you feel. But before you narrated your story, my instinct wasn’t far from your story. Thank God that he was particular about what he wants from you.

You see, men are naturally attracted by what they see, more reason why they can be easily seduced. Any woman that’s so careless with her looks and environment is sure to find herself in the same problem as yours. But I want you to know that you can still make amend. You can still make hay while the sun shines.

As a woman, the biological make up of our body makes it easier for us to emit foul odour when we fail to observe proper personal hygiene.  A man to an extent, can afford to play with personal hygiene and get away with it but any woman playing with personal hygiene is unconsciously gathering ant infested firewood in her house and you and I know what that means. Take time to care for your body. Sweetheart, always  get rid of all the unwanted hair on your body, take care of your finger and toe nails, ensure that your inner wears are thoroughly washed and change them after about three months. My dear, you must make sure that your hair is always neat and void of repulsive odour. Get good body lotion and deodorants.

Your husband always see appealing, enticing and charming ladies every day, it will only be great for him to be wrapped up by a neat, appealing, enticing and charming lady at the end of a hectic day and it will be awesome if that lady is you. Don’t you think so?

Mrs. Ike nodded in affirmation.

Mrs Kalu continued: You need not to tie wrapper with the aroma of onions all over you to welcome him home, thinking that he’ll always understand. My dear, he will never understand that part of you that has refused to give him the charms he needs in a woman. Your home wears MUST be speaking a romantic language to him. Of course he can’t make advances to you because that woman in you that use to turn him on, is nowhere to be found. You can only attract him when you’re attractive. You can only entice him when you’re enticing. You can only charm him when you’re charming. Even if your husband is the general overseer of the biggest church in the world, that does not change or reduce the masculine nature and needs in him.

I’m happy you said it wasn’t like this from the beginning. Go back to where you stopped being that woman that attracted him. I hope you perfectly understand all that I’ve been saying?

Mrs. Ike: Yes Ma.

Mrs. Kalu: Good. Don’t wait till tomorrow. Go back home and work on yourself. I will call you tomorrow to know how you’re faring.

As Mrs. Ike stood up to leave, Mrs. Kalu’s neighbor came in.

Women, the very day you decide to be careless about your look will also be the day you consciously or unconsciously decide to be careless about your marriage. That you’re married to a tongue-speaking-Holy ghost-baptized-fire-branded man is not enough reason to be careless with the woman in you. Having a born again Christian as a husband, should be more reason why you should be up and doing in taking care of that woman in you to help him overcome daily temptations that come his way. Do not consciously fetch ant infested wood and turn back to ask why when lizard pay you a visit.

Beloved, ensure that you do everything HUMANLY possible, LEGALLY and MORALLY right to be that person God designed you to be.
