If Delilah had pestered Samson for money as it is said that women like money and gifts, I would have understood. If Delilah had demanded for Samson’s attention and care, I honestly would have understood. However, I still cannot understand why Samson refused to read the handwriting that was so bold on the wall.
Why would Delilah strive to know the source of his strength if not to pull him down? It is obvious that his highest weakness was women but pestering him to reveal the source of his strength should have alerted him. He failed and died in the hands of Philistines because he chose the wrong company. He fell in love with a wrong woman and she terminated his mission.
That justifies the saying of Napoleon Hill, “Man’s greatest motivating force is his desire to please a woman and it is this inherent desire of man to please woman that gives woman the power to make or break a man”. No matter how we may shy away from this, the truth still remains that every man has a woman he surrenders his power to, who can secure or destroy that power. That is why it is very important for every man to prayerfully seek for a companion called wife and remain faithful to her.
Any man that is entangled with an evil woman is entangled with death. Husbands, please be faithful to your wives and wives please remain faithful to your husbands! The land is fertile already, so cultivate and reap good fruits. A man can bring out a woman he needs in her wife just as a woman can bring out a man she desires in her husband. It all calls for wisdom. Samson was entangled with an evil woman who ended both his mission and life.
God departed from Samson when they shaved his hair because therein his hair was his glory. We all have functional spot where God’s glory in us radiates from and whenever that spot is violated or polluted, the glory of God departs us. ‘Delilahs’ of this world will drain your anointing if you ever give in to their charms. In fact, Delilahs of this world will not stop at draining your anointing but will also hand you over to the philistines of this world who are after your life. Delilahs of this world are after your anointing (your dreams, talents, gifts, visions and purpose) but Philistines of this world are after your life. If you can overcome the Delilahs of this world, you have defeated the philistines of this world.
Resist the Delilahs of this world and they will flee. Do not keep them at arm’s length as you can keep the Herodias of this world because they are not bloodily related to you. They come as friends but are foes. Avoid them like plagues. They are more dangerous because they appear to be good from afar, they sound promising. They look like life but they are death. They taste sweet but desert you with bitter taste all your life. They appear kind but full of wickedness. They appear like sheep but are dangerous wolves. They look bright with shades of light but inside them is undivided darkness.
Delilahs of this world soothe you with every melody and treatment they have got just to lure you away from the presence of God and once you are away from the presence of God, they shave your hair and once your hair is gone, the glory of God departs, and that exposes you to the Philistines of this world. Flee from the Delilahs of this world as Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife. Do not be deceived by his/her sugar-coated tongue. Do not be carried by his/her demonic presents and gifts. Do not be carried by his/her fake smiles and deceitful looks. All his/her moves are very glaring and obvious. Do not say, let me play along and see how it will end because it can only end your life. Delilahs of this world are the most dangerous of them all! I have never seen anybody that recovered from their claws. Do not ever get entangled with them because they are evil news from beginning until the end. They are dream devourers, destiny destroyers, vision killers and life terminators.
If you must succeed, flee from any Delilah around you!
